Over 100 years of competence in metal decorating, based on the know-how of the renowned Mailänder, LTG and Bauer + Kunzi companies makes us the market leader. These companies have set the standards throughout the history of the metal printing industry:

Druckmaschinenfabrik Mailänder was founded.

Mailänder was the industry leader in the development of metal printing resulting in the first production machine being built in 1888. The world famous range of MAILÄNDER machines has since undergone a programme of continual development and still represents the industry standard for high quality, reliable and repeatable printing produced by a highly durable machine.

"Cärrier Lufttechnische Gesellschaft" later renamed LTG was founded in Stuttgart as a supplier of air ventilation systems for various industrial sectors.

the first metal sheet drying oven was applied to produce the famous blue Nivea-Cream can and the way into the metal printing industry was cleared.

Bauer + Kunzi was founded at Ditzingen near Stuttgart.

LTG and Mailänder merged to form LTG Mailänder, the first system supplier of cost effective, environment-friendly metal decorating systems including LTG’s highly economic range of air purification equipment which has been in production since 1965.

The idea to apply the unit type design in the metal printing industry was introduced. Bauer + Kunzi closed a cooperation agreement with the KBA Planeta AG, the market leader for large format sheet offset presses.

By this cooperation the MetalStar was developed and introduced to the market - the industry’s first modular design of printing machine. This was the beginning of the new era in modern multi-colour high speed printing, taking production outputs up to 10,000 sheets/hour.

Bauer + Kunzi was taken over by KBA.

KBA-MetalPrint was formed by combining Bauer + Kunzi,
a subsidiary of KBA and LTG Mailänder.
